New music platforms like Dewarists, MTV Coke Studio, Kappa TV, Nescafe Basement are promoting their work to reach a wider audience. Some of these artists are also making amazing music videos with lovely artworks, doodles, animation and even shooting them at surreal locations of the country.

Color White – Parvaaz
Location – Kashmir
Parvaaz has experimented with Kashmiri and Sufi Folk and taken the style to a whole new level. Their music is as soulful as you can imagine. Parvaaz’s Color White takes you through the snow covered valley of Kashmir where two friends walk through the field trying to find each other. The video takes some beautiful drone shots of the valley proving why Kashmir is called the jannat on heaven.
Jogi – Swastik the Band
Location – Himachal Pradesh
Jogi takes you through a child’s imagination who is about to be sent at a Monastery for his studies. He fears about his future at place what is disconnected from rest of the world and more than that he is afraid of losing the girl he loves. In the process, this video takes you through the beautiful mountains of Himalayas and inside a beautiful monastery located somewhere around.

Location – Mumbai
A regular corporate guy breaks off from his routine and chooses to become a street performer. The video beautifully captures the essence of Mumbai and the chaos in which the city exists.
Never give up – Borkung Hrangkhawl

Borkung Hrangkhawl is a rap artist who hails from Tripura. He is one of the leading artists from the music scene of The North East India. Never give up an amazing track that follows the life of a traveler. What makes this video amazing is how beautifully it takes you from one place to another. You travel with the artist, a moment you find yourself in Spiti Valley and the next you are roaming in the jungles of Manipur.
Piya Na Jaa – Laman
Location – Shimla and Spiti
Piya Na Jaa showcases the beauty and contrast between two regions of Himachal. The song features the apple gardens and markets of Shimla, the rugged terrains of Spiti Valley. The beautiful drone shots capture beautiful views of Himachal. What makes this track amazing is that it takes a beautiful Himachali folk song and gives it a modern touch without diverting much from the rawness of the original song.
Faraway – Chizai
Location – Manali
This one is for all solo traveling women who wish to break from their routine and just fly. Chizai’s Faraway follows the adventures of one such girl who travels to Manali. One night she just packs her bag and leaves from her home to explore a destination unknown. And yes, she ends up visiting Drifter’s Cafe that means two of my favorite things at one place.
Wings of Fire – Shubham Roy

Wings of Fire is dedicated to the missile man of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and revolves around one things that he truly loved and believed in, the young bright minds who he said would shape the world of tomorrow. Wings of Fire goes from a region of the country to another and you meet children from Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Tamilnadu. There is so much emotion and innocence in this music and the song melts your heart the way it is filmed.
Dil Mere – The Local Train
Location – Himachal Pradesh
Himachali Bands are really making a name for themselves with their innovative music and videos that complement their tracks. Dil Mere is not a song, it is a journey of many characters exploring the snowbound Himachal Pradesh. The song portrays the life of bunch of solo travelers who are here to explore and may or may not cross each other’s path. Also there is some excellent use of drones and timelapse.
Roumut Daiwanaie – Alif
Location – Kashmir
‘Roumut Daiwanaie’ in Kashmiri means ‘I have lost my beloved’. This song has a pain of someone who has lost someone close to their heart and is now looking for peace. This song is a beautiful poetry woven across the Kashmir Valley. If nothing, then the pain and the longing in the eyes of the central character is enough to get you hooked to the song.
